What is LegitChat?

LegitChat is a human-verified private messenger. Every message requires a quick human check on the sender's phone before it sends. It is end-to-end encrypted, with no ads and no tracking.

Why won't my message send?

The human check has to pass on your phone. Three failed checks in a row lock sending. Reopen the app and pass verification to continue.

I lost my phone. Can you recover my messages?

No. Messages are end-to-end encrypted and live on your device. Without your own device backup, nobody can recover your history, including us.

I lost access to my email. Can you recover my account?

No. Account recovery happens only through your email. That is a deliberate security choice.

Why one account per device?

It is a core anti-abuse rule. To use a new account, delete the old one first.

How do I block or report someone?

In conversation details. Reports go to our team for review.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom (below Log Out), tap Delete Account, then tap Delete Permanently to confirm. Immediate and permanent. Or see legitchat.io/delete-account.

How old do I have to be?

You must be 18 or older.

Is there a file size limit?

Individual media files can be up to 25MB in the current version.
